Occupational Safety and Health Act No. 32 of 1997.

This Act lays down provisions on the establishment and functions of National Advisory Council on occupational health and safety and the Occupational Health and Safety Authority; designation of inspectors; prohibition of child labour; sanitary requirements at workplaces; safety requirements for the use of hazardous chemicals; and duties of employers, employees and other persons; notification of occupational and other diseases; and offences and penalties. This Act shall also apply to employees engaged in cultivation, animal husbandry, forestry, horticulture, the primary processing of agricultural products or any other form of agricultural activity.
